Day 7: Final Day, in Reykjavik

On our final morning, we had scheduled a helicopter ride with Reykjavik Helicopters. They picked us up from our hotel and took us to the municipal airport. The ride included ourselves, the pilot and one of the staff members. The ride was super smooth and fun, and included one stop on top of a volcano.

Glymur waterfall, which is the second tallest waterfall in Iceland.

The continental plates tearing apart at Thingvellir.

The crystal clear waters of Thingvallavatn

The volcano where we landed.

This pool is hundreds of feet deep.

After our helicopter tour we had plenty of time to walk around Reykjavik
The famous Sun Voyager sculpture.
We had been desperate to try an Icelandic hot dog, and finally got our chance on our last day. This is Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, which translates to the best hot dog in town. With all of the toppings, the hot dogs are actually pretty good. Soon after we ordered, the line got crazy long.

Stacking rocks is popular with tourists in Iceland, but you shouldn't stack them in natural areas.

Iceland has rainbows everywhere!

The colorful buildings of Reykjavik.

The stunning architecture of Harpa concert hall. You can visit inside for free.

We had an incredible time in Iceland, and I can't wait to return.
